Call it destiny, but for rapper, poet and musician Nardean, music is something that was thrust upon her.
Growing up in Sydney's West in a traditional Egyptian family, Nardean quit her studies as an English and Drama teacher and began pursuing a career that would cement her place among Australia's finest hip-hop artists. From starting against her family's expectations and feeling like she had something to prove, Nardean now works full-time on her music, creating songs that pay homage to her culture and offer a poetic expression of her identity.
